October

Hey 5 blog readers! October was filled with busy-ness. We headed back to Safford for tamale making time. Brady has been wanting to learn how to make them since we were dating, so it was about time. And we got 12 dozen of our own too. Yum yum.
Ready to assemble!
Sarah asked Grandma to take a picture of all of us working and she had a little trouble with Sarah's camera on her phone. When she got it figured out she was snapping pictures like crazy and had no idea. We were laughing pretty hard.

My mom had arranged with my cousin Clark to let us bring Ollie to check out the fire station. He's currently Safford FDs Fire Chief. Ollie gets excited when he sees a fire truck on the road. Clark said he would give us a ride too so it was pretty exciting.

Sitting up front for his first ride.

He even got to spray the hose.

Later my mom took Ollie to check out Uncle Craig's chickens and caught this gem.
A couple weeks later Sarah and I decided to go to ASU Band Day, just for fun. Since mom was in town she joined us. It was fun to just reminiscence and criticize bands.

This year for Halloween, I wanted to keep it as low key as possible. We knew for about a month that Ollie would be a pirate. He's becoming increasingly obsessed with pirates and Captain Hook. He bought him has own sword and a Captain Hook hat.

We only did our wards trunk or treat. Since I think it was 2 wards, it was crazy! Not my fav. Brady wanted to hand out candy for the trunk or treat. I kind of fought him on it, but he won. He made a Doctor Who TARDIS and wore a huge bow tie to go with it and set it up by our car. (I didn't get pictures of any of this.) He had fun, while I took Ollie around treat or treating. He looked pretty cute with his bucket going from car to car.

Yo ho, yo ho! A pirates life for me!

The TARDIS
Brady needed to wear a costume to work on Halloween and found instruction online on how to make your own beard out of yarn. So he made one very luxurious beard.

Ollie did wake up on the morning of the ward party with a cold, so he, and us since then, have been fighting it ever since. Super booger house.

This month has been the adjustment month. At the end of September Brady switched careers. He is now working at an Assisted Living facility that his dad runs. He's currently helping with activities right now but is going to start management/administrative training this month so he can move into a more desirable position.

It's been an adjustment for both of us. Of course it's a completely different career and environment than Brady is used to. This isn't his dream career, by a long shot. We just decided together that the never ending money struggles we've had for the past 3 years has been too exhausting to keep up with. We've been fine, and our debt is going down, but we've had 1 actual vacation in those 3 years. One! With no hope for another one in the future. We need wiggle room, and with this new job, hopefully we'll get that soon.

I'm now a normal 8am-5pm mom. I've always had Brady around during the day, so I've been having to cope with learning how to parent Ollie all over again, by myself. It gets frustrating and lonely. I struggle in the friend department so I have no social life to speak of.

Anyways, so now I'm in 'prepare for baby mode'. Today I'm officially in the 3rd trimester, 28 weeks. This pregnancy has been a difficult one for me. Not health-wise, but in other ways. But that's another blog post, or not, I haven't decided.
