Saturday Was Awesome

Our weekend was pretty darn good because Saturday was pretty darn good. It started when my dad came for a visit. I just figured out now that I should have taken a picture of Ollie and his grandpa together, but I didn't think of it at the time. Anyways, my dad was in town and stopped by for a visit. It was nice to talk and hang for a bit and Oliver loves him. Dad also showed me this amazing video.

Anyways, check out our TV.
I know, hard to see.

We've been without our big screen TV for months now, it wasn't working properly for a while and we've been using my little 19 incher for a long time. With Brady's extra freelance work/pay he did this month we're finally getting our TV fixed. We're so excited! Merry early Christmas to us!

Saturday night, we were in Scottsdale visiting with my in-laws, Blake and Cindy. We went to dinner at Streets of New York. When we first sat down, two older couples came up to us and oogled at Oliver.  Then there was a young family sitting near us and they had a little girl that was only a week older than Ollie (we asked), and Oliver would not stop looking at her. He was turned completely backward in his chair, watching her. It was pretty funny. The best part was toward the end of our dinner, two more old couples were leaving and walking by us, one lady stopped so she could get "one last look" at Ollie. An old man stopped to say to Oliver that he "would take him home with him if he could". The best was from an old, like 80+ year old lady said to Blake, who was holding Oliver at the time, "I'm going to go home and have sex, so I can have a baby just like him." Our faces went to the table in laughter. Wow. Oliver: inspires many.

Now for some pics
After getting home one day, I set Oliver down on the floor and he just played with my keys right there for 20 minutes. I had to get a picture.

For a couple of weeks, he did this face a lot.

Ollie is getting all over the place, he sure does love to walk around, as long as he has a couch or wall to hang on to. He loves books, he'll flip through every page of his books and looks like he's reading them, except they're usually upside down. He has 5 teeth, I keep telling people that he has 6, but turns out, I lied; 3 on top, 2 on bottom.

We're looking forward to a busy family filled holiday weekend. Then we're going to decorate the house for Christmas, I'm so excited for Oliver to see the lights. We just have the daunting task of figuring out how to keep Ollie from pulling the tree down.

9 Months On, 9 Months Off

I've heard from a bunch of places that after having a baby, you need to give yourself at least 9 months to loose the baby weight. I'm happy to report that it worked for me. Woo Hoo! OK well, I don't know how much I actually weigh. The last time I weighed myself, a month ago, I had 7 pounds to go, but as of this weekend, I'm in my pre-pregnancy jeans! I did it with Weight Watchers. I didn't loose a single pound for months and months until I joined 2 months ago. I don't like to count calories nor can I find an exercise I like to do, but I looked into Weight Watchers and figured that I could do it. And I did! Funny thing, is that since Brady is eating what I eat, he's loosing weight too, without even trying. I'm going to continue tracking my points so I can reach my ultimate goal of reaching my pre-marriage weight.

I got some advice from some of you's about what to do with Ollie during the day. Thanks guys. I took Julie's and Shannon's advice and joined the play group in our ward. I went for the first time last week and it was nice to get outside and get to know some more of the awesome ladies in my ward. Thanks ladies!

On Friday, Oliver got his first fever. It was a side affect from one of the vaccines he got the day before. He was super whiny and the only time he would calm down was when I would put on an episode of "Yo Gabba Gabba". Luckily that kids show doesn't bother me so much.

Oliver's newest trick; pulling himself up to a standing position. Here's the weird thing, he doesn't crawl yet, despite an expert fast army crawl, he also cannot get himself into a sitting position from laying down. But if I sit him within 6 inches of the couch, there's a 85% chance that he'll be standing in 20 seconds, and then shuffling himself down the length of the couch then onto the wall. Whew. I'm afraid he'll be walking by Christmas. Yes, afraid, I'm not ready for my baby to start running around.
