His First Father's Day

We had a great first Father's day here. Actually the whole weekend was pretty great. It started out on Friday. Brady and I wanted to see Super 8. Well, a couple weekends ago, we went and saw Pirates of the Caribbean 4 at the drive-in and took Oliver with us, (no babysitter required) and it was a pretty good time. Brady looked up the times for Super 8 and awesome enough, it was playing as a double feature with Kung Fu Panda 2! We wanted to to see both of them, so we went. Oliver did great. He fell asleep during Kung Fu Panda and slept in the back of the car through all of Super 8. And both movies were enjoyable.

Saturday was a lazy day. I went shopping for Brady's dad's day gift and took Ollie with me to give him some alone time for a couple of hours, since a stay-at-home dad deserves a break every once and a while.

Sunday was fun, we had a lazy morning and Brady and I had a delicious breakfast of sticky buns. We had the wrong pan to cook them in, but they tasted perfect. Delish! As for gifts, we gave Brady his first official Father's Day Tie! I would've love to say that Oliver helped pick it out. But he was sleeping when we were at the store. I also splurged a little and got him the LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean video game. It something we can play together.

After church, we went up to Scottsdale and had dinner with the Gillman's. It was a good day and Brady said he had a great father's day.

Brady is an amazing dad. Staying home with Oliver was not something we had planned for Brady, but our circumstances has changed our plans for both of us, and although it's hard sometimes, we're surviving and Oliver is doing great. Oliver and I are so lucky to have Brady around to help us when we need him. No words can express how much I love him and appreciate all he does for our little family. He really is my best friend, I'm pretty sure he's Ollie's best friend as well.

Links of Awesomeness!

A few days ago, Brady and I came across a blog and had a ton of fun looking at it and figuring out what each picture is from. You'll see what I mean. Check it out here.

Also, for all Harry Potter fans, posters that should bring you joy here!

Enjoy!

No catch up

Instead of catching you up with a bunch of stories, I'll just put up some pictures of recent happenings that I actually took pictures of.

My birthday
Brady took me mini golfing. I may, or may not, have been a little excited.

Moving
Sarah helped out and we tried on some of Brady's hats in the process.

We went to Tucson spontaneously (just for food)
Molinas!

Eegees!

Oliver Right now:
  • Loves to kick his legs like crazy when he sits in his bouncer.
  • He's ticklish in his ribs.
  • Loves to look at books.
  • Loves to touch everything in front of him, especially paper.
  • Drools, a LOT (I'm nervous for the teething stage).
  • Lost his voice recently, and is slowly getting it back.
  • Loves to look at himself in the mirror.
  • Rolls from his back to tummy. But gets mad that he can't roll back, although I've seen him do it once.
  • Has slept though the night a bunch of times (7 hours), but isn't consistent.
  • Is 26 1/2 in. long (90% percentile)
  • Is 12lbs 11ozs (10% percentile). The doc thinks he's under weight since he used to be 75% percentile in weight. So we're starting solid foods tonight. Dr.'s orders!

He kicks his feet so much when he's happy that it's hard to get a focused picture.

He likes his tummy more when he can look at himself in the mirror.

Brady tried "doing his hair" one day after a bath.

He sucks in his bottom lip a lot...

And thinks it's funny.

This is how he looks when he's making loud noises.

These last two pictures crack me up!
