Rafe's 3rd Birthday Party

Shannon, Michael, and the greatest nephews ever, Rafe and Skye came into town for a few weeks. We had Rafe's birthday party at McCormick Park in Scottsdale on the 19th. Rafe is really into trains right now, so he was really excited to ride on the train. We waited until nighttime to ride the train so we can see the Christmas lights. It was crazy and crowded, I thought I was at Disneyland, but it was still fun. The whole Orr family also joined us.I was there too!Rafe with his best friend, Everett. Everett's family used to live in New Hampshire but recently moved here to AZ.Opening the gift from Brady and I, a Thomas the Train lunch box with a puzzle inside.

Half of the crowd waiting to ride the train.

Rafe was excited to ride the train, really.

Brady and I ready for the ride.

Killing Time: Our weekend and Animated Movies

Since AVT is down here at work, and I can't do any work without it, I decided to blog.

Brady and I got most of our Christmas shopping done on Saturday. We hadn't even started yet so we left the house around noon and were done by 2pm. Sweet. I just need to get one more thing for Brady and my mom.

This week Brady and I also bought LOST season 5 on DVD and finished watching it on Saturday. I die a little inside thinking that the show will be over over in May. But at the same time I can't wait to see how it ends. LOST is the greatest show ever created.

On Sunday, we went over to Brady's parents house to visit Shannon and our nephews. They got in on Saturady night and are here until after New Years. Rafe and Skye are both at fun ages. Rafe is 3 and is fun to talk to and right now is really into trains. Skye is 6 months and smiles all the time and rolls around like crazy. They're both so cute. Being an aunt is fun, I love it. Rafe's 3rd birthday party is on Saturday, and I'll be sure to get plenty of pictures.

On Saturday, I bought some cheap gloves (2 pair for $1.50) and took one pair and cut the finger tips off to make hobo gloves. At work I sit in the coldest cube in the whole building. Cold air is blowing on me all day, so I have to wear my sweater all day and since my hands are usually really stiff by 2pm, I needed a solution.

I came across this article on EW.com asking if the best movies this year were animated movies. I have to say "yes".

Brady and I usually optioned to see animated movies this year than live action. Hollywood, just didn't put out fantastic, must see movies this year, at least in my opinion. I loved 500 Days of Summer (my favorite of the year), Star Trek, Julie and Julia, and some others, but I expected to like those. The ones that surprised me were films, like Up, Coraline, 9, and The Fantastic Mr. Fox. We even saw A Christmas Carol in 3D, with Jim Carey, and I loved it. Yeah, the story is nothing different than any other version of A Christmas Carol, but this one was emotional, adventurous, and even had a lot suspense at one point.

We haven't seen The Princess and the Frog yet, but we will, because we see animated films, and I haven't heard a bad thing about it yet.

Is anyone else disappointed in this years movies?

Brady!

I saw this in Kim's blog and decided to do it. I answered the questions and then I asked Brady for his real answers and put them in Blue so you know how well I know him.

Here's a chance to see how well you really know your husband. Cut, paste and fill in the answers, then forward . . . shoot, you know what to do. The real challenge is to send it to your husband to see how right you really are.

1. He's sitting in front of the TV, what is on the screen? Video Games. Right now he's into Call of Duty. Brady: Video Games

2. You're out to eat, what kind of dressing does he get on his salad? Cesaer Brady: Italian

3. What's one food he doesn't like? Chocolate chip pancakes Brady: Mints meat pie

4. You go out to eat and have a drink. What does he order? Dr. Pepper Brady: Dr. Pepper

5. Where did he go to high school? Desert Mountain High School Brady: Desert Mountain

6. What size shoe does he wear? 11 Brady: 11

7. If he was to collect anything, what would it be? Books Brady: Books!

8. What is his favorite type of sandwich? Geez. Um. He loves all kinds, so I'll say, a Reuben Brady: Ham & Cheese (but he said Reubens are good)

9. What would this person eat every day if he could? Pizza Brady: Something sweet, like a soda.

10. What is his favorite cereal? Life Brady: Life

11. What would he never wear? Skinny jeans Brady: Skinny Jeans!

12. What is his favorite sports team? He doesn't really follow any team, but I'll say Boston Red Sox because that's what hat he wears all the time. Brady: Boston?

13. Who did he vote for? McCain Brady: McCain

14. Who is his best friend? Me, of course Brady: Nicole Gillman

15. What is something you do that he wishes you wouldn't do? Point when giving directions. When he's driving and I have to tell him where to go, I just point and he gets frustrated because he wants me to say "left" or "right", because he can't hear me point. (Brady wouldn't answer since he's afraid I would get mad at him, ha ha ha)

16. What is his favorite color? Green Brady: Green

17. You bake him a cake for his birthday; what kind of cake? He's not much of a cake person, so I would say, key lime pie. Brady: Chocolate (trick question)

18. Did he play sports in high school? Nope Brady: No

Happy Thanksgiving

This Thanksgiving, Brady and I went to Grandma and Grandpa Bingham's house. We headed down Wednesday night after Brady got out of class. We were put in charge of providing the green beans for the dinner so on the way to Safford I snapped the ends of the beans, so I wouldn't have to do it on Thursday during the bustle of getting everything done.
In case you can't really see Clint in this picture, I zoomed in for you below.
Love it!

Grandma being awesome.

My favorite bread and butter pickles.

The pies

It was a good turn out and the food was delicious.

I loved having all the kids around to practice taking pictures of them and my cousins. I'll be editing my favorites and adding them to my picture blog.
Julian loved being in front of the camera.

He even photo bombed my picture of Mom. Funny kid.

On Friday, it was a slow relaxing day. We got some Dairy Queen, bought "Mi Casa" tortilla's from the tortilla factory, and shopped at "The Wear", which is fast becoming one of my favorite clothing stores, ever.

Saturday, Brady and I left around 1pm after visiting Dad, and showing off my toy.
Aren't my brothers handsome?

Here is the Gila Valley Temple. It's looking good but I heard that the steeple is going to be changed. Too boring, I guess.
When Brady and I got home, we decided to go to a movie. We went and saw "Fantastic Mr. Fox", which was really good. It was funny and quirky. Wes Anderson quirky. I would recommend it.

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

H&M Is Back In My Life.

The awesomeness of H&M is back in my life for good. The amazing Swedish clothing store I talked about in New York has opened in North Scottsdale. Once I found out it was coming, I told Brady that we would have to go. We went last Saturday and I bought a bunch of new shirts. Brady and I also got new coats. I've been wanting a new one for Christmas time since we'll be in freezing Utah. I also wanted one that was a brighter color, instead of black.Mission accomplished. Though I don't know if it's warmer than my other coats. Oh well.

Christmas came to our house again, now for Brady. He got a new stereo surround sound system. And for a smokin' deal. :)We've been watching DVDs out of Brady's Xbox for way to long, so a new DVD player (with 5 disc changer!) that came with the speakers was much needed.

Now that Christmas is covered, I guess the next stop is Thanksgiving!
